Limewire is completely legal.. Unless you download copywrited material.
If your going to do it try to keep your sharing to a minimum, they go after the people with the biggest file share libraries.

A warning to people who use kazaa. Even Kazaa plus contains spyware even though it swears it does not, I would'nt touch kazaa with a 10 foot pole..

Right now im using emule, Its a bit slower but it has most the files i want..

Yeah i bet that limewire will go down in the future, Its based in New York city.
Kazaa will last a bit longer because its based in Austrailia, wich laws are different.

Who cares if it's legal or not. Truth is, if it isn't legal, it SHOULD be. Most music is out of print after a few months and if you can't let other people listen to a song you own, then it should be illigal to play music in a car with more than one person in it.

I stopped using Limewire 2 years ago due to the excessive spyware it contained, just a word of warning as I don't know how much it still contains but back then it was a black hole in terms of security.

And yes, so long as people are using these programs to download copyrighted materials they will get challenged in courts one by one and for each that falls two more will rise.

The rating system is awesome, you can detect if somethings fake like 30 seconds into download. And you can actually search for arcive files. Theres a trend where people are putting CD's or even entire discographies of CD's in .rar files and posting them online.
I just downloaded the latest version of limewire to test it out, There is no spyware in the latest version, I just throughly scanned it. After testing it for a few min It seems that emule is significantly better and finding those rare files, Like rare bands and what not.
